Winner: Johnny Frugalby Michele Ranger – “a moving, impeccably written, wonderfully descriptive economical writing”

2nd place1971by Jeff Jewson Fleming – “brilliant story, multi-faceted and very well written”

3rd place Ready for Loveby Dana London– “the author has the ability to use an adjective like a rapier. Only a woman could have this degree of insight into the human mind”

Well done to everyone who entered and congratulations to the winning three.

Judges Roland and Sally Gardner are Secretary and Chair of Shorelink Community Writers, based in Hastings. Shorelink is a popular writing and publishing group, open to all. They also run the Short Fuse events held at the Jenny Lind in Hastings Old Town. The next Short Fuse will be held in March. Sally has published three books: Lillian’s Story, The Sweetest Empire and Painting by Numbers (available on kindle). Sally was a professional actress and had her own touring company. Ro and Sally said what a pleasure it had been to judge the anonymous entries and how impressed they were with the high standard.
