To celebrate our Third Anniversary in May, we are are hosting a Live Lines Writing Contest where the winners get to read out their work to Members and Guests at our Annversary Awards Event.

The Event will take place on Thursday 31st May

7.30 to 10pm

in the Function Room (upstairs)

at the Bibdendum Wine Bar Eastbourne

The evening will include and Buffet and Raffle and one lucky winner of the Writing Contest will receive a cash prize of £30.

This should be a fun evening

for everyone attending – don’t miss out!

Fiction or non-fiction.

A number of competition entries will be chosen to be read out on the night, and a cash prize of £30 will be awarded for the entry selected as best in the competition by the Judges. The winning story/poem will also be published on the New Eastbourne Writers website.

Competition Entry Rules

Eligibility:

Entry is open to those living in Eastbourne and and the surrounding areas.

The Live Lines Event takes place on 31st May 2012.

You must attend the Live Lines Event to be eligible to win the Prize.
If your entry is chosen to be read then you must be available to attend the Event to read your entry.

Entry to the Event is £3.50 and includes entry to the competition, raffle ticket and buffet.

You must be aged 17 or over to enter the competition
Entries must be the original work of the entrant.

Theme: “On The Edge"

Short story or poem. Fiction or

non- fiction.

Word Count: Maximum1500 words

Poem maximum 40 lines

Closing date for entries:

Friday 11 May 2012

Entries should be original, double spaced, typed (12point), on single sided A4 sheets of white paper with each page numbered.
Your story will be judged anonymously. Give it a title, but please do not write your name or any personal details on the same sheet as your story.

Enclose a separate cover sheet for each entry with the story title, your name, address, telephone number, email address, word count and paypal receipt number if appropriate.
Only one entry per person
The Judges decision is final.
